愛知県の東三河地域についてご紹介します。

東三河は、豊かな自然と歴史的な魅力が溢れる地域で、愛知県南東部に位置しています。

東三河には豊川市や新城市といった美しい田園風景や山々に囲まれた地域があります。

自然や四季の移り変わりを感じることができる場所がたくさんあります。

今日は東三河の自然スポットの中でも特に紅葉の名所として有名な"鳳来寺山"をご紹介します。

この山は新城市にあり愛知県の県鳥"コノハズク"が生息しているところで知られています。

鳳来寺山は1300年前に利修仙人によって開山されたとされる霊山で、

山の中腹には"鳳来寺"という歴史あるお寺が建っています。

麓から山へ続く1425段の石段の参道には、樹齢800年、高さ60メートルの"傘杉"がそびえ

訪れる人々は奥三河の美しい自然に触れながら、ゆったりとした時間を過ごすことができます。また、1651年に徳川家光によって建てられた仁王門は国の重要文化財に指定されています。

Higashi-Mikawa Region, Aichi Prefecture

The Higashi-Mikawa region is a captivating area located in the southeastern part of Aichi Prefecture, rich in natural beauty and historical significance.

This region is home to cities like Toyokawa and Shinshiro, surrounded by picturesque rural landscapes and mountains. Visitors can experience the changing seasons and enjoy a variety of natural spots.

Today, I would like to introduce one of Higashi-Mikawa's renowned natural attractions, Hōraiji Mountain, famous for its stunning autumn foliage.

Hōraijisan is located in Shinshiro and is known as the habitat of the Aichi Prefectural bird, the Konoha-zuku (Oriental Scops Owl).

This sacred mountain is said to have been established 1,300 years ago by the hermit Rishu, and at its midsection stands the historic Hōraiji Temple.

The approach to the mountain features 1,425 stone steps lined with 800-year-old "Kasa-sugi" (Umbrella Cedar) trees, which rise to a height of 60 meters. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beautiful nature of Okumikawa while enjoying a leisurely time.

Additionally, the Nioh Gate, built by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1651, is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

新東名高速道路『新城IC』から約20分 東名高速道路『豊川IC』から国道151号、国道257号を経由、県道32号で約50分

Access to Horaiji

By Train: From JR Iida Line, get off at Hon-Nagashino St and take the toyotetsu Bus to Horaiji.

By Car

Approximately 20 mins from the Shin-Tomei Highway Shinshiro IC.

About 50 mins from Toyokawa IC on the Tomei highway, using Route 151, Route 257 and then Prefectural road 32.
